Crazy Hobbies

I need a hobby, any ideas?

I am 26 years old and I have a pretty boring life it feels that way any way...I have a bf but i feel like I need something else to do beside be around him all the time..because he wants to do stuff with his buddies and it makes feel hurt and angry when he doesn't spend every second with me but that is not reality and I need other things to do... he needs that time and deserves it....and if I am not with him I feel lonely and left out like he doesn't want me around or something. I know I have got to get over that ...He has a hobby and a group of friends to share that with...but other than him I have a pretty boring life...I teach...come home, watch tv stay on the internet, to me the internet is not a hobby, so people consider it to be but I don't...I want some thing fun to do with other people something I can do to meet people and is not very expensive...tell me some hobby's that you all have...any teachers out there tell me what you do for fun. not into bars and clubs...all my female friends got married and moved off...so not many women to hang around in this one horse town..

  1. Take a yoga or meditation class. Find an art class or cooking class to take, especially if the subject is challenging for you. If you don't know yourself well enough to decide on a particular subject then just choose one that seems exciting to you. Educating yourself is always a great hobby! Also, try meetup.com to locate groups of people in your area that shar similar interests as you.
  2. try knitting. it is relaxing and you can find knitting clubs to meet people. you can also try scrapbooking, if you go to a craft store, they have classes for stamping and scrapbooking and other craft classes. they are normally cheap and another great way to meet people. any kind of craft is a great way to meet people. go to your local scrapbook store or craft store. good luck!
  3. I'm always looking for something to do... You can try a few of these, cross- stiching, knitting, painting (very nice), reading, jewelry making... depends on your personality... I've learned all of these but none have kept my attention long. Right now though I am going to start doing papier mache, which is very inexpensive and very fun!... You can go to any bookstore or even the crafts section in wal-mart and buy a book about anything that calls your attention and start off. Good luck! Trust me it will help alot!!! when you do find something that interest you, you'll be stuck!
  4. Have you ever tried card making? I met many teachers who find this craft relaxing and it's not an expensive hobby. I myself love papercrafts and card making is my favorite. So much so that I build a whole website around it just to showcase my handmade cards. Now I make so many friends - card makers online and they also uploaded their cards to the site. Here's the link to my card making website. http://www.making-greeting-cards.com I also have a friend who only make bookmarks. Cards and bookmarks are small projects and can be done in a short time. Since you are on the internet alot then any of these would be a good hobby to take up, search for groups, do swaps and make more friends and when you are with your boyfriend, there are so much more to talk about too.
  5. It sounds like you need a place where you can get out and be with other people. Try taking a class at a gym or even a community college. When I say class I mean something easy that you would enjoy like photography, dance or art. If you want something that you can do at home I like scrap-booking and it's even something you can do with friends and combine supplies. You may have to drive a little, but if it's once a week it shouldn't be that bad. As a recreation therapist I say you just need to have diversity and find something you enjoy. Good luck!
  6. Start cross-stitching or other craft for example! Great fun, creative, and cheap of course!
  7. Three years ago, I became sick, I have COPD, and I had to quit work, etc.... Anyway, I've been in the hospital at least over 70 times in the last 3 years, and had to find something to do with myself. Got a laptop so I can stay in touch, but you don't need that. Went to the local craft store, got lots of ideas, so now I'm doing all kinds of crafts, go check them out, I'm sure something will interest you, and then there's scrapbooking. The medicine I'm on messed up my eyes so I can't read like I use to, so now I have audio books, they keep me busy. Once in a great while, I'll gp to Bingo, good place to meet people, so are craft classes. And out of the blue I ran across a Witch store, they sell everything for potions and whatever, don't think I"m a quack, but it is interesting, I'm becoming a witch, a good witch, they have classes and all that stuff, and I"m trying to teach myself new programs on the computer. So, check out your craft store, check out your local witches lol, Bingo, or you can start writing to the service men and women overseas. The post office even gives you the boxes and shipping for free if you decide to send them something, you can even become a foster parent to a pet, take night classes in something you never thought you would do. Hope I gave you some ideas, off the wall that they are, Patty.
