  1. make it a guest room
  2. i have a flower room so to say i have wicker furniture in it and all my plants. its a relaxing room to go enjoy my plants and listen to music. ive known people to make a tropical so to say room for partys or dinner guest. artifical palm trees, you can take baboom torches and make lamos out of them. look through magazines they give great ideas.better homes and garden is a good one or better living.
  3. Here are my suggestions: Maid's Quarters - if you are planning to have a maid Storage Room
  4. You could allways pad the walls and turn it into a safe room for the kid.
  5. Work Out Room? Wine Cellar? Library? Play Room For small kids can include a small stage and a fort or play house. Can be themed like a jungle theme with climbing items or other themes. later you can redesign as a hang-out room for teens. You can give them free reign to decorate as long as there is no physical damage to walls w/out your approval. Then they have a place to hang out and you will know where they are. My friend had one of these when she was a teen and we all went to her house BUT No parents allowed! Otherwise you will drive them away. Just post reasonable rules like no Drugs, No Alcohol, No Smoking.
  6. Leave it as a guest room. If you have no other use for it, that would be the best in case someone comes visiting or you kid has a guest stay overnight. Later if you develop a hobbie then the room can change. I believe in purchasing in bulk. Stuff like can goods, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc. I would put in some plastic or metal racks. and place my stuff on the racks. The racks can also be used to store summer or winter clothes, blankets, pillows. Your kids toys, books, games, etc. I would love to have a basement.
  7. If you are married then your room, I guess, is shared. Why not create a "haven" room for yourself with things that you love, memorabilia, photos in a style all your own . A place you can retreat and listen to music or read or just relax with a "do not disturb sign" on the door. It can still have a day bed or sofa bed to be used as a guest room when the need arises. Have fun , I hve 4 kids and a hubby, I'd love a room all my own : )
  8. Have a bed incase of emergency! A single will do! What does your child like doing.....?! Maybe you could have somethings to help devolp skills needed in the future?! You could also have a relaxation room with sofa's (instead of a bed!) with a calm atmosphere! A small fountain + a cd player is all u need play relaxing music relax on the sofa's if stress is building up! You could also have a picture room! Put in lots of photo-frames that can stand or hang on the wall of good memories you wouldnt want to forget! You could have a study room! Have a small bookcase and a computer and a desk for doing homework! There are tons of ideas you have aswell I'm sure! But go with the one u wont be changing like nxt year or anything! Good Luck! xOxOxOxOxOxOxOxOx
  9. Upstairs kitchen - just add a coffeemaker, microwave & mini-fridge, small table & chairs. No more running downstairs in the middle of the night for a snack. You can wake up in the AM & get your coffee, juice, cereal while getting ready for work without having to venture downstairs.
  10. What about every womans dream?! A closet! You can put wardrobes around the perimeter and a bench right in the center for throwing clothes on in the morning when you can't find a thing to wear! Imagine having enough space so you never have to pack the out of season clothing! You can even put the treadmill or exercise bike in the corner for duo purpose. This could be the most important room in the house!
  11. Make it into ur own private getaway room, where u can keep ur books and magazines and a place to retreat to when u need some time alone. Put in a few comfortable chairs a good reading lamp, a small table for ur coffee or whatever, a place to invite friends for private chats. A TV for watching ur programs the kids aren`t interested in. Surround urself with objects u like and it becomes ur own space. Something we all like, but don`t have room for.
