What are some good hobbies for a 17 year old male?
I already play 2 instruments. I am active in golf, racquetball, and skateboarding. And also have a girlfriend and a job. I am just just interested things that require only like 2-3 hours worth of enjoyment once or twice a week.

- Depends on what interests you. If you want something like videogames, get an Xbox 360. Read a good book. Make model cars, planes. Collect something. Paint. Write. Surf the net. Visit your mother. Whatever interests you. Hope my suggestons helped.
- Try the hobby of running hobby RC's. They come in nitro, gas, or electric, "Capable of 16 MPH or faster," and they can be modified. A good hobby that you can do for 2 - 3 hours of enjoyment without getting carried away. - i think you should consider something relaxing! Try some form of art you may surprise yourself and be really good! There is nothing wrong with just chillin', plant a small garden, learn to knit or crochet, painting, drawing, photography. All are fun with a lot of satisfaction in the end, and with the exception of photography, relatively cheap!
- I have the perfect thing. It is entertaining, it will stretch your mind, your active fingers will be put to creative use, you could make money doing it, & you could make your girlfriend really glad she is with you. What could this magical hobby be, you ask? Why, knitting, of course! Whoa, Nelly. Don't be running off, yet. I know, it really doesn't seem like the thing a "normal" 17 year old guy does but it is everything I promised! Just read: Entertaining : seeing people's looks when they see a guy knitting is hilarious! Especially, other guys. Just don't let them get to you. Stretch your mind : learning a new skill always makes you think in a different way, expanding your knowledge base is never a bad thing, & knowing how to do something like knitting can help in ways you can't even think of right now. Putting your fingers to good use : since you already play instruments, you know how important loose fingers can be to a happy life. Well, knitting is actually prescribed to people with arthritis to help maintain finger muscle & ligament ability. Making money : honestly, a couple weeks ago, I went into work with 2 thrift store needles and a ball of leftover yarn. When I left 8 hours later, I had nearly a hundred dollars in my pocket & a very happy coworker taking her daughter a fashion scarf I had made while @ work. Make your girl happy to be with you : if you can make stuff to sell, think about what you could make for your girl. What girl would not love a handmade, one-of-a-kind, personal gift from the man in her life? Think about it. By the way, knitting is one of the cheapest hobbies to get started in. I spent $1 on a pair of thrift store needles, fifty cents on a ball of yarn the same trip, & a couple of hours at the local senior center learning from a couple of women who had been knitting over a hundred years between them. It really doesn't get much cheaper than that. Have fun.
