Crazy Hobbies

What are some good hobbies I can get?

First off, I'm 19, and basically up until I was 18 all I ever did was sit inside playing video games and doing things on the computer. That really pissed me off when I was almost 19, and so I've been trying to change my hobbies, and myself along with them. First, I needed a job so I could have money to invest in said hobbies, which was a painstaking process, but finally 80 applications later (no joke) I have a job for the summer on the beach. Having been a gaming dork, it's needless to say that I'm extremely pale and thin. So, I was thinking of joining a gym in my spare time. Next, I've been thinking of learning bass, but it's not really a top priority for me right now. Finally, since I'm going to be on the beach while I'm working, I figured it'd be a good idea to get into something active there, like surfing, skim boarding, etc. Question is, which of those is easier to learn? I'm transferring to a new college in Fall, and I want to be a new person basically. Any tips = nice.

  1. Yeah, those are good, though they are kind of more like hobbies that develop after lots of practice. Unlike video games, you can't just pick up a bass an play or a surfboard and ride an awesome wave or a weight and become instant buff-man Bob. I'm sure you know that, though. Definitely break away from the indoor technology that keep you locked away from the good stuff outside. You might be a wimp, a horrible bassist, and unable to stand on a skimboard for more than a second, but it's all part of the game, prt of the change you want. The hardest thing you'll have is erasing those 19 years of lazy gaming activity and forcing yourself to do what you say you want to do in order to get the change you want. Conquering yourself is the hrdest task any man has. But you sound dedicated, so go for it man. Good luck.
