Any hobbies for me and my daughter to do together?
I'm 19 with no hobbies... i got a 2 year old daughter aswel. All we do is stay in or visit family. I live on benefits and cant afford to take my daughter out. Can you please give some ideas to set a hobby for us?... its got to be 'us' as i wont do nothing without my girl. I need a hobby, nothing to do with staying in... because thats all we ever do.

- Why don't you take her sightseeing in your area? I'm not sure where you live, but most major cities have tons of attractions such as landmarks and museums to visit. You can just take her in her stroller to all these places to get fresh air/exercise. And maybe even take photos in these places. Many museums often offer reduced rates, are free, or have days you can go when entrance is free.
- Find out what she likes. Ask her what she wants to do and try to fill it out as well as possible. Find out what other 2 year olds like to do. MAke you two can start a button collection, or stamp collecton.
- Why not go to the park and look at the flowers or birds and talk about the different colors, songs, etc. With flowers, you can start a book and press the flowers as the illustrations. You and your daughter can write a sentence or two (either fiction or nonfiction) about that flower. If the park is not your thing, then why not take a trip to the library? Reading together is a wonderful way to bond and the library is free.
- You could go to pet shops and look at the animals there... and teach her about them while you go through the shop. Take her for walks in the park... pick flowers, show her birds, squirrels... trees, clouds, sun, trees, seeds.. Kids like that stuff. They like learning about our world. :D I was gonna say you could paint her nails... but that is kinda an indoor thing. My little girl loves that, so girly.
- How about the park to go watch the birds or the squirrels and go on the swing set or the merry go around go see the zoo or go fishing when they have the free days to go build a snowman or see Santa and the lights. Use your imagination but try not to get her ot yourself sick
- Some good ideas already mentioned: parks, library, playground, pet store, maybe a local acquarium. Do you have regular internet access? Often there are things like street fairs on weekends...farmers' markets, things like that that don't really cost much (or anything) but should be interesting to your child. Do you read to her? That is always a good activity, though I understand you can't do it all day long. D
- she is 2 so now the time to stear her into some creative thing do alot of reading to her share diffrent books get a keyboard and learn how to play it together but this is the learning stages and what ever you do make it fun and something that might help her towards a career.
- Well, for now, since your daughter is pretty young still, walks around town are fantastic. If you have a pond nearby and some dry bread (or how that first pancake always gets burned!), take that with you, and throw some nibbles to the ducks. When she gets a little older, it may be easier for you two to develop activities to do together. Many flea markets, classic car shows, concerts and community festivals are free of charge, and provide a really neat atmosphere. Check your local newspaper (print or online) to see what's happening in your community. You might even be able to join a child-parent activity or play group! Best of luck as your child grows-- I hope it's rewarding for you both!
