Will someone help me with a hobby?
I'm a fourteen year old living in iowa, over summer vacation, and i'm really bored. I need a hobby, and i don't want it to be something to do with a computer, t.v., or video game console. I live in a semi-rural area, but there is a town about a mile away, and a city about 20 miles away. There is a large woods behind my house. Can someone suggest a hobby for me (just some stuff i have that could be hobby inspiring, a microscope, a guitar)

- I think that if you live near the woods you should try and study nature. Or maybe you could even learn how to hunt.
- i kinda know how you feel..i live in a small town in Ohio twenty miles from Cincinnati......I'm big into off trail mountain biking......keeps you alert and you gain some serious endurance and respect for the unexpected......you could make dirt ramps.....trust me it may not sound too fun but if you make a good strong ramp a the bottom of a slope you can get some serious air and its a rush.......you could always experiment with explosives....or build shit out of the trees.. I'm also a hunter so i like to walk through the woods early in the year and set stuff up.....hunting is great......maybe paintball too............ i play guitar and bass guitar so....i try not to get bored cuz if i do I'm on the computer for a long time......... but whatever.......just find something stick to it and you'll get good at it......
- one thing that can be really fun is model rockets...you build them and you shoot them off in the air...you can get where you paint them different designs and try experiments with them...it is a lot of fun
- well, you could buy yarn and plastic canvas (but buy a lot of plastic canvas- the yarn goes a long way) and you can make purses and wallets and they make circular ones and you could make a pencil holder, or all manner of things and you can use all the different colors. You can use yarn needles but the eyes are kind of big and hard to get through the holes in the canvas, but if you buy some thin wire you can make needles buy folding them over and twisting them onto themselves and who kills animals as a hobby... i hate hunters
- I agree with hunting but it's too early in the season for that. Maybe fishing

- what about researching the history of your town or city? has anyone famous lived there, or battles, or Indians, etc? if there is a library you could find out all sorts, and maybe write about it or do a collage of things that happened. or using your microscope do a study of bugs in your area,do you have ones that other areas dont have.
