Which airport should I choose?
I am going to a wedding in Houston and I am very unfamiliar with the area. The wedding and hotel is in the Galleria area. Do I choose the Bush Intercontinental Airport or the Hobby Airport? I will fly Delta.

- This will also depend on which airline you choose to fly. Not all of them fly into Hobby with it being the smaller airport. For example..Southwest only flys into and out of Hobby and Continental only flys into and out of Intercontinental. But to really answer your question Bush is about 26 miles from the Galleria area and Hobby is about 16 miles.
- Go through Hobby. Hobby is much smaller than Bush, so it will not take you as long to get through the lines.
- Well, I live in Houston right now. Bush airport is really big and they usually have construction going on. It's a pretty good airport though, but it gets really crowded. And Hobby is a much smaller airport. It gets crowded too, but it doesn't get as crowded as Bush. It all depends on what airline flight you have. Because Bush doesn't fly some airlines and Hobby does. Have fun at the wedding that you are going to! And just so you know here in Houston, the weather is REALLY hot and humid right now and it rains unexpectedly. Pack some light clothes and a umbrella!
- I would choose Bush. It is much bigger and they have regular shuttles to the Galleria area because that is a major tourist destination.
- Hobby is closer, but may not serve Delta
- Hobby is much easier. It is closer to the Galleria area, and there will be much less traffic coming from there no matter what time you fly in.
- By all means I would use Hobby, I am sure you can hire a shuttle or cab to take you to the Galleria. The traffic is MUCH better and it's quicker to get in and out. Delta fly's into Hobby as well as American Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Trans World Airlines, Continental Express, Mesa Airlines, and Southwest Airlines. I always fly Southwest when I can. Bush is always sooo congested, and it seems to take forever to get anywhere. Good Luck!
- Bush is a beast, a gigantic international airport that takes up 15 square miles. It can take over an hour to park, shuttle and get to the gates. Hobby is a real treat, a smaller airport just outside the inner loop, very easy to get in and out. Delta does have flights to Hobby, I would choose this option. It's also closer to the Galleria area.
- well depends where you are flying in from. If you are taking southwest most likely you will fly into hobby. Continental it will be bush. As far as proximity is concerned hobby is the closer.
- hobby if you can, intercontinental if it's cheaper...the galleria is hardly adjacent to either.
- Either one will do the trick. Hobby is on the SE side of town, Bush is on the north side, Galleria is on the SW side of town. Either one will be able to get you there, but a cab from Hobby will be cheaper. If the hotel is worth its salt it'll have a shuttle bus at either airport. Hobby is a little harder to get to, because it's closer to town and there are traffic issues on the freeways that lead to it. Have fun.
- I live in Lubbock and travel quite often to Houston, I've been to both and hands down Bush! It's a little bit more expensive but a lot easier to commute in!
- Go to Hobby. Delta flies there. I prefer Bush Intercontental, but that's because I always fly Continental, but Hobby is easier to navigate and quicker in and out.
- Hobby is so much better,I've been there numerous times to fly and it's definatley cheaper. It's alot easier to get around also and it's not that crowded.
- You have no choice, more than likely, but to fly into George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). Few large commercial airliners operate out of Hobby. IAH is located near I-45, which will carry to the Galleria area.
