Hello I am looking for the cheapest transportation from hobby airport in Houston to Galveston.?
Im going to a hotel not the port will be leaving for the port the next day.

- Talk to your hotel they should have a bus service that can pick you up and take you to and from the airport. If not call a cab and they can take you there. I don't think the bus lines go out to galveston.
- Thumbing.
- Thumbing would be the cheapest... Good question, you'd think there would be a train or a short hop flight. Buses do run from Hobby to Downtown but that's the opposite direction. Visiting Hou/Gal area w/o auto is diff. Least hassle is rent-a-car at Hobby; drive to Galv. south I-45; ends in Gulf of Mexico. Next best is; bus to Clear Lake City area (as far south as bus goes) then take taxi; still a long ride. Island has small airport Scholls Field. Single and twin engine prop or helo. No way EXCEPT thumbing.
- We took a cab last year and it was $100 from Galveston to Houston. Not too cheap!
