Want to buy my daughter a computer (PC) for Christmas?
My daughter is 11 yrs old. She is into music, so the computer must be satisfactory for burning CD's, DVD's, and downloading music. When she turns 12 yrs old in March, I'm getting her a digital camera because she wants to start taking pictures and working with photo labs as a hobby. Although I have a Del, I don't like Del because of the non-english speaking people in their support center, I can't understand them. I want to spend somewhere between $ 600 to $ 800 for processor, monitor (19"), speakers, keyboard, and mouse. Any suggestions?

- Go to Wal-Mart and make your selection for there. Return policies are generous.
- aeoncraft.com- Cheap, great support and popular with kids or you could support your local PC builder- Most areas have a few pc shops around NOT A MAC!!- over priced and she likely has no experience with them at school. They have pretty bad support, not upgradeable-
- Try Hp. They are better and I never had a promblem with them.
- Tigerdirect.com has great deals - also i know a view ebay PC builders that give you top of the line for cheap. i know because ive dealt with them :-). Better hurry up and order it though, They can take a long time to ship, sometimes.
- On the matter of tech support when you find one that speaks English please let the rest of us know. Other wise Dell is good machine. Also you might just consider a laptop if you go to Walmart they will your buget. Also they take less room.
- A MacBook would be perfect for her. It comes with iLife for photos, music, video, etc. With a student discount it would be just a bit above your price range, but you wouldn't have to buy a monitor or anything.
- I suggest you go to Lebanon and to Ozark Mountain Computers. I bought mine there and it can take DVD and can copy and make new discs and has all the necessary equiptment for her to use. They are in a new location so you may have to call them to find them. But you can get her a good new one there at a reasonable cost.
- I think you should get a eMachines T5234 Desktop with 17" LCD Monitor, Printer, Cable & Surge Protector for $589.97 right here:http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=999980200050024&type=product&id=pcmprd80100050024. It has a dual core processor(two processors in one)with a Canon Pixma iP1800 Photo Printer a cable for A-male to B-ale USB connectioon & also has a surge protector with 8 ports which makes it a good computer for a price. if you want the 19" monitor than get the Westinghouse - 19" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor for $189.99 at Best Buy.All this would cost $779.96.That's what you asked about from $600 to $800.Its a good computer it has everything you need except for wi-fi which only cost about $10.00 AFTER MAIL IN REBATE at CompUSA and its USB the link is here:http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?pfp=SEARCH&Ntt=TRENDNET&N=0&Dx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&D=TRENDNET&Ntk=All&product_code=344135
