What do ladies wear to the Hobby Center in Houston, TX?
The play is in December during the day.. " It's a Wonderful Life".. How dressy are the dresses? Long? Ball? After 5? Evening? "Church dress? " Please help,, I don't want to feel out of place. We heard that they REALLY go all out!

- You can't go wrong wearing a rain coat and shower clogs.
- Women wear togas & go go boots with feathers in their hair. The men wear pink or purple tutus with bustiers & cowboy boots with spurs. The Children must wear burlap potato sacks to avoid youth violence.
- "Sunday best" is probably the most common, but you may see an occasional long gown. You'll also see a few people in blue jeans. I've never seen a ballgown there.
- "sunday best" or "cocktail attire" is most common. For during the day, "sunday best" is probably the most appropriate. Occassionally you'll see someone with blue jeans on, but they're really out of place. And unless it's opening night, you don't really see all-out formal wear.
- Because it is during the day and the show is on the conservative side I would recommend a church dress.
- I went there for a day show once, and I wore a long skirt. I saw people there with gowns on though. But they were mostly the front row people. There were also people way too casual in jeans. So, I wouldn't go the formal route, but definitely make yourself look nice. A nice skirt or dress will be just fine. Have fun and enjoy the show.
- Church dresses will be fine... matinees are not very dressy at all.... no one will be in formals! Really no one will be in formals for the evening ones either! Business casual is suggested.
