Batteries and charger getting way too hot!!?

I own the tower hobbies 30 dollar charger and I converted all my connectors on my rustlers components (and charger) to deans connectors. I have noticed that the batteries overheat and the clear plastic wrapper around them has melted. I am wondering if the charger is puting to much juice in them at once or what. It could also be the batteries too. They are tenergy 4200's. I am wondering if it wasn't a good idea to convert the charger over to deans connectors. I have not the slightest idea. Can anyone help me. Also I have a mamba maxx 5700 installed if that helps. Thank You!!! Here is a picture of the battery charger. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJC34&P=ML As for the batteries they are Tenergy 8.4v 4200's. I converted all my connectors to deans because the Mamba Maxx motor fried the stock tamiya connectors on my truck. I am positive I did not reverse the polarity. It would have started on fire a long time ago. I have put about 20 runs in the truck so far. So the idea of me reversing the polarity is impossible. Any other ideas on what my problem is?

  1. When you changed to the dean plugs, are you positive you did not reverse the polarity? Be aware! there have been many complaints about batteries being charged, bursting into flame and starting huge fires! You don't give enough info on the charger and the battery (packs) you are trying to charge. I thought Tower sold Hobbico chargers. And, why did you change to dean plugs?
