Can anybody suggest a hobby in which I can meet new people?

9. The community theatre is a great place to meet people. Also, you could take a photography class or some other sort of class and meet people in the class. Then you have new friends and a new hobby!
10. How about a local cub / scout group? The leaders tend to socialise together (also leaders from different groups) & you get to meet the kids parents. Also (judging by your name) - How about getting involved in archery / historical fencing. There are re-enactors all over the country (different time periods) Or there may be a group that is devoted to Robin Hood (look up Robin of Sherwood too, I know that the programme still has a big fan base - even more so now with the upcoming BBC version)

12. go to college and get on a course. you will meet new friends and get a qualification. thats what im doing in september and i cant wait!

14. Try your joining Amateur Dramatics group! I'm secretary of a drama group called Valley Players and being involved in productions rocks bells! As for acting it is fab but the whole backstage thing is great too! You will meet lovely friends of all ages and all walks of life!

16. ice-skating is a challange, fun( when you get used to it) great exersize, and if you join a skating lesson, or go to a public skate, you will meet many people, and make LOADS of new friends............( that's how i met my best friend, and we have been friends for over 5yrs!!!!!) try it, - - -me =D
17. Depends what you're interested in. An art group, something indoors if that's the way you prefer, or go out in the sunshine with abseiling or something adventurous like that. Sports is good too. :o Or bingo.

19. You should try something along your line of interest. If you're an active person you might want to try a new sport or even many new sports(rock-climbing, surfing, etc.) If you're a creative person you might want to try crochet, making jewelry, or learning a new instrument. All of these can be done w/ a group of people or discussed in a class. So its really up to you, you must have SOME thing in mind, but if you really don't then go to your local library and look at a list of the organizations and groups in your community for a good headstart. 20. Drama group. Dance classes. Book club. Join the gym or join some sort of fitness club. Football club. Cookery classes. Yoga. Music group. Church choir. Computer course. College course for adults. Wine tasting group. Voluntary work. Hope you enjoy whatever you choose to do.

23. If you lean toward geeky, maybe boardgames? The new breed of boardgames coming out of Europe are really for adults. I have a great group, none of whom I knew before I started gaming. 24. Okay, I've got two answers. Firstly, there's a sport called footbag, in case you've never heard it. It's actually quite fun, and I play it all the time. The point is to get a small bag and try to keep it up with your feet and pull tricks whilst you go about keeping it up. Go to a mall or any public place and you'll surely get a crowd of people who want to play along, or at least complement you on your skills. And, to the man with the first answer from Texas, there are a ton of footbaggers near you. The second one is Airsoft, which is the current love of my life. Airsoft is a sport of military simulation where you go about shooting 6mm plastic projectiles at each other. It's a lesser known version of paintball, yet more realistic, and, in my opinion, more fun. But, let me warn you, if you'd just so happen to pick Airsoft, it's very expensive. I've seen automatic rifles that go into the thousands, and my current rifle ran in the higher hundreds. At the very least, a good gun is at least $300. Anything less is invaluable.
25. JOIN A CLUB OR ORGANIZATION that "does"a hobby you are interested in and fascinated with? Hiking? Biking? Nature? Gardening? You name it, there is probably a local club. OR, YOU can start one! Put up notices on bulletin boards. Volunteer at a nursing home or hospital. There are LOADS of places that REALLY NEED volunteers. GO FOR IT!

28. basically try anything which involves joining a group club nothing like golf because that is pretentios and solitary in my opinion something more like a reading club , drama group the gym fencing is very demanding and you meet loadsa new ppl check out your local gym for different clubs or look on your local state or council (depending in which country) website as they usually list new groups you can join
