Is it possible to convert an original XMODS' electronics to hobby grade? I am looking at an on-road R/C car, and I was wondering if I can convert the RadioShack XMODS electronics to hobby-grade micro size. I know I probably will have to continue to use RadioShack motors, however. Can you solder stained glass with lead-free solder from a hardware store? Hi, just curious if anyone out there solders stained glass with the cheaper solder you can find in the plumbing dept of home depot? They only carry lead-free solder, and it's $6 for a pound, yet in the hobby stores the lead-free solder specifically for stained glass is over $20. Is it the same thing??? Where do I find the rubber ring that holds charms for cell phone antenna's? Ok, now I am going nuts here. I have checked everywhere and have not come up with this item. This rubber ring is clear, or whatever color they come in, and it slides over the cell phone antenna with a charm attached to it. Not the landyard type. The rubber ring is approx. 10mm I have no clue what they are called or where to find them. I have checked two local hobby stores, and on Ebay. On Ebay I do not know what name to put into the search to locate them. I even tried looking under orthodontics. Nothing! Thanks! *lanyard* I meant. Oh, and by the way, when I ask anyone where to get them, they do not know where to get them either. The "mall" is not going to know where to get them, they get them in by shipments. Help With A Hobby Project? I have a tin that I keep my picks in for guitar and I was sick of it having "York Mints" on the front. So I went to my local hobby store and bought spray paint that'd work on the tin and used it all over the tin, inside and out. Well it fixed the problem. New problem though: the paint changed the feel of the tin and now the thing sticks when you close the tin. I was wondering if anyone knows a good way to keep paint from sticking or something I could put or do to the lip of the tin so that it wont stick when I close it. I know that's vague and hard to understand, I'm doing my best. Thanks to all who answer.
