How should I handle an executive who has a hobby of trying to analyze other people? Boss man goes to counseling monthly and has for years. It's a hobby. Now, if folks who work for him don't agree with him, he tends to start throwing around phrases like "emotional intelligence" and other amateur analysis. Problem is, he also tends to gossip. How might people handle a guy like this?

Why do so many people new to the hobby of fish keeping start with goldfish? They are actually more difficult to care for (as long as you try to do everything right by them) than tropicals. They need a larger tank and more attention paid to maintaining water quality, yet it seems many people don't realize that until the goldfish are home and start to do badly. And the fancy goldfish aren't cheap either. Why do so many people start with a relatively difficult fish?

Do any of you collect photos of people as a hobby? I like to collect photos of people. I take my Kodak easy-shot camera on vacations and most every where else. If I see a interesting photo of people on the internet, I collect that too. I never collect photos of unhappiness or injuries. Those photos bother me. They remind me of horror movies, of which I also do not like. I like being happy. Not upset. My wife like's flowers, so for her I am always taking photos of flowers that I see. What's your hidden talent or hobby most people may not know? I ride a unicycle and dabble in magic, clowning and play Santa Claus. Most people I know never recognize me when in costume or makeup and not even my kids know me as Santa to this day. My daughter almost figured it out (and may have by now) when I visited their school when she was younger and she said to me, " Dad, that Santa that came to our school today looked just like you." Not waiting to give away the "secret" I quickly said, "well...Santa always looks like someone you love."

how do you make your own action figure,like most people in japan? most of the hobby collectors there do.? i saw this one time on tv, japanese, most of them, make their own action figures of their favorite animation characters. especially those people called "otakus", i think it's the right term. anyway, they used this kind of clay, I'm not sure if it's called the clay of paris,then they mold the clay, arms , legs, head, after then the whole body of their desired character now comes to form. they would sculpt,carve down to its tiniest details, then paint it with detiled color, and done! they have now thier own action figure.

I want to take up a new hobby. What kind of hobby should I try? I recently went to the wedding reception of an old friend that I’d not seen for 5 years. He introduced me to many people, but the only thing he’d ever say about me was that I play video games. Well, that is true; and I did play video games a lot 5 or 6 years ago, but I really don’t play them much at all any more. I want to start a new hobby, so I’ll have more to tell people that I do. Saying “I play video games” tends to make one sound like some kind of lazy bum with no social life. I know that’s not always the case, but that is the stereotype, and certainly doesn’t describe me very well. I was thinking something artistic or music related; learning to play the electric guitar perhaps? Something a little more physical might be fun, too. Perhaps taking up bodybuilding (not exactly my style, but wouldn’t hurt), or swimming. I’m just looking for some general hobby suggestions that might be fun and not too expensive to do.

Why do humans think my hobby is strange? I enjoy swallowing things, such as the following: batterys, pens, quarters, hair, earrings, caps from shampoo lotion drinks etc... puzzle pieces, and small animals. What's the difference between a hobby and an obsession? My friend LOVES Harry Potter. The books, the movies and the people who play the characters. She does nothing but spend her days reading fan fiction, reading the books, and constantly going to Danielle Radcliffe's (the boy who plays Harry Potter) website for updates. She falls asleep to the movies EVERY NIGHT! But not just the movie it self, but also to the special features! When we're having a normal conversation she'll stop me and say "Oh Dan said the funniest thing the other day!" No matter what, she's always talking about Harry Potter! She constantly, randomly, starts talking in a British accent. When I call her on it she says she can't help it, it just comes out that way because that's how she reads the books. I was introducing her to someone and she started talking in a British accent. It was kind of embarrassing. I told her that it's getting scary and she says that it's just a hobby. I honestly think she's obsessed. What can I do to help her? Is this normal for a fan?

My stories are connected, similar to a series, and based on events from the news, or events in my life, and I suppose my writings resemble a diary. How can I make more money to support my expensive fish hobby? I LOVE exotic fish! I love them to bits and I always enjoy getting new aquariums and seeing all the new creations when the fish breed. They are so beautiful and amazing. My problem is that I don't make much money at my job and even though I spend very, very little on everything else I'm quickly going broke with all of the money I'm spending on my fish for tanks, cleaners, heaters, and rare fish. I'm sick of people telling the depressed to just get a hobby. You don't get it. There's no motivation. With depression you lose interest in everything and can barely watch TV. The thought of just picking up a guitar or playing video games or just getting out and doing something is scary and unenjoyable so stop suggesting that. No not me.. We've been through at least three big red scares, the terrorists, Y2K, inquititions and witch trials. Roswell even. There's been stories coming out of our churches for over a hundred years about "who really murdered Christ." The Jews of course. Look at the entertainment of even little children in our culture. What's the recurring theme in cartoons over and over. Some diabolical charactor. Some dark figure. Oh, save us, Batman!! We teach our children that those who don't pick up our box of personal opinion will be thrown in fire by God. Do you have a hobby or an interest or side of your personality that makes people believe that you act younger? I'm 24, I still have similar interest that I had in my preteens and teens but I look at those interests differently now, and I believe I've matured in the past 4-6 years or so. But my older sister still sees me as a teen because of my interests in celebs. At least I don't look at them as gods or anything but I still get interested in the latest music, tv shows, movies, etc. and I'm just looked at as a teeny bopper, I have done some responsible stuff in my adult years such as finishing high school and college, I do live a sheltered life, especially in the southern rural town I reside in. Our parents did shelter us a bit. I haven't had all the experiences that people my age have here. I know one high school friend who got married at age 18 or 19, had a son, and her husband left her before she turned 24! I'm sorry, I wasn't ready to marry at 21 or whatever (she's supportive of that but in my town I feel like I'm judged for being so different). Also she complains that I have outbursts like a teen. I can't help I live in a frustrating world. I haven't had really anytime to myself, my first experience being on my own was a year at a university that I hated (back when I was 18 and 19) so I didn't stay and went to a community college instead. I haven't been able to save money to move out due to employment issues and I've done what I can :( I'm sick of having a family who sees me as immature.
